David Arlow Martin, 79, of St. Charles, passed away unexpectedly, August 1,
2019, with his loving wife and son by his side.
David was born June 19, 1940 to Hellen Alice (Gray) and Loren Arlow Martin,
in Lanesboro, MN. David attended Chatfield School for 3 years and
continued his education at Wykoff School, to the 11th grade. After leaving
high school, he began his working career as a farm laborer, eventually
pursuing his passion on his own farm. He also worked many years for Bedtke
Brothers Feed and Seed of Dover, and Swenson Trucking of Chatfield; up
until his health prevented him from working.
David enjoyed reading, antiquing, going to garage sales, tractors, farming,
family, and most of all, being with his wife. On January 20th, 1962, he
married the love of his life, Geneva (Gehrking) in Stewartville, MN.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva of 57 years; 2 sons Brian (Kathy)
Martin of Rochester, MN, Brad Martin of St. Charles, MN; 2 grandchildren,
Nate (Katie) Martin of Woodinville, WA. and Keira (Caulina) Pape of St.
Charles, MN, along with 1 great-granddaughter, Dessa.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5th at 1:00 pm at Faith United
Methodist Church in Eyota followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with
Pastor Laurie Boche officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later
date.
