Aidan D. Miller

d. July 22, 2019

Aidan Daniel Miller, age 16, died unexpectedly of natural causes near his home in rural Kellogg, Minnesota, on Monday, July 22, 2019. Aidan was born on October 9, 2002 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha to Daniel and Karen (Deming) Miller. He was one of six children in the Miller family. Aidan was baptized in October of 2002 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was confirmed this past May at St. Joachim’ s Catholic Church. He held his Catholic faith as a priority in his life, helping out with Vacation Bible School this year, and serving Mass for many years. Aiden was an excellent student at Plainview-Elgin-Millville Schools and was just about to begin his junior year in high school. He was a great athlete, wrestling through his freshman year and looking forward to this year’s football season as a lineman for PEM. He was a member of the FFA, the National Honor Society, Bulldog Ambassadors, PEM Trap Shooters Club, the PEM Student Council, and Immaculate Conception Church. He was an avid Twins and Viking fan and could accurately sing every word of every country song he listened to. If you didn’t see him mowing lawn in his straw hat, or doing chores on the farm you would find him checking trail cams, trapping gophers or hunting for mushrooms. Aidan was an avid hunter and fisherman and was on an afternoon outing (at one of his favorite spots) with his best friends when God called him home. Aidan will be sadly missed by his parents, Dan and Karen Miller of Kellogg; his brothers Blaine (Hannah) Miller, and Garrett (Alicia) Miller; and his sisters Mary Kate Miller, Ellie Miller and Avalin Miller, all of Kellogg. He is further survived by his maternal grandparents, John and Alice Deming of Plainview, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved him. Aidan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Rose Mary Miller, and one cousin, Holli Blattner in 2005. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. William Becker officiating. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in rural Kellogg. After burial, a luncheon will be served nearby at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will be held at St. Joachim Catholic Church on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10-11 a.m., also at the church. There will be a prayer service at 3:30 pm with sharing of memories. A memorial gathering with family will also be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church, from 6-8 p.m., including a time for communal prayer. A memorial event with family will also be held at the Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School gymnasium on Friday evening, July 26, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. with sharing of memories at 7:00 p. m. There will be individuals present for support, conversation and prayer throughout the evening. Pallbearers will be Mike Nielsen, Kevin Lamb, Pat Reeve, Marty Diettrich, Ron Wolf, Paul Wolf, Lynn Boyum and Bill Stamschror. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for a future scholarship in Aidan’s name. Schad and Zabel Funeral Home of Plainview is assisting the family with arrangements.
