Albert Meyer

Albert Charles Meyer passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 76, at St.Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Albert was born January 17, 1949, to Simon and Jeanette (Maahs) Meyer.

In 1965, at the age of 16, Albert joined the US Army Reserve, serving one term. That same year he graduated from St. Felix High School in Wabasha and went on to complete the machinist program at Winona Technical College. He began working at Professional Instruments Company in Rochester. In 1971 he returned to the family farm in Theilman, MN. In 1995, he retired from dairy farming, received a certification in truck driving from Winona Technical College and started A&M Trucking until his retirement in 2012.

Albert and Marie Taubel married on May 29, 1971, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kellogg. Together, they raised six children.

Albert is survived by his wife and their six children, Vincent Meyer, Jill (Kevin) Gusa, Charles (Sarah) Meyer, Sarah (Ian) Campbell, Matthew (Amy) Meyer and Theresa (Patrick) Ferret; 23 grand-children; brother John (Bonnie) Meyer and sister Mary (Mark) Bergene, sister and brothers-in-laws Kathleen (Leo) Sagissor, Carolyn (David) Purcell, Joe (Patty) Taubel, Martha (Larry) Melvin, Monica Koelsch, Rita (Maurice) Young, Jerome (Jan) Taubel and James (Bonnie) Taubel; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara, his uncle Charles Maahs and his aunt Esther (Maahs) Hielscher, his brother-in-law Jerald Koelsch, niece Pam Koelsch and nephew Jason Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 22032 Wabasha County Road 18, Kellogg, MN, on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. with viewing one hour prior. Visitation will be at Schad & Zabel Funeral Chapel, 57 3rd Street SW, Plainview, MN on Sunday, December 7 from 2 - 5 p.m.
