Alfred was born March 28, 1930 in Pease, MN to Fred and Minnie (Resenbrink) Kiel. He attended the Pease Christian School. On August 11, 1962 he married Sue Hilt in Winona, MN. He was employed as a Quality Control Inspector for the U.S.D.A. in St.Charles, Wilmer and Monticello, MN, retiring in 1982. They moved to Eyota, MN in October, 2005. Al loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He bowled on many leagues and belonged to the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Sue, of Eyota; Children, Pam (Richard) Becker of Seattle, WA, Sammy (Karla) Hilt of Rochester, Donna Hilt of Scottsdale, AZ and Ruby Buehler of Albia, Iowa; Grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jeff) Carbert, Annie(Kurt) Krienke, Katie (Brad) Grossmann, Melissa (Dylan) Wojchouski, Donald Atwood, Mindy (Brian) Tschann, Erica (Michael) Christian;15 Great-grandchildren; Daughter-in-law, Joanne Hynes; sister-in-laws, Martha, Joyce and Clara Kiel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Vernon, Howard and Edwin, and son, Gary Kiel. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota with Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Pease, MN. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The family requests no flowers.
