Alice H. Hendrickson

Alice Hendrickson, 98, of Plainview died May 12, 2020 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview. Alice was born January 7, 1922 in Utica Township, Winona County to Edward and Martha (Treder) Prudoehl. She was raised in rural Bethany and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1940. She then went on to Winona Teachers College and graduated in 1944. She taught grade school at Spring Valley and Country School on Fisher Hill. While teaching she met and married Jim Hendrickson on May 31, 1952. The couple farmed on Fisher Hill for over 45 years. Alice moved to Winona after Jim’s death, and later moved to Green Prairie in Plainview. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and the wonder of nature. Alice had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved to pick berries and nuts which she turned into wonderful jams, pies and cookies. Alice is survived by one sister, Vivian Howland of Powell, WY and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, one brother, Fred Prudoehl Sr. and two sisters, Doris Taylor and Verna Simon. A private graveside service will be Friday at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Elba with Pastor Greg Behrens officiating. A special thank you to the staff at Green Prairie and Mayo Hospice.
