Betty Eileen Cook

Betty Eileen Cook, 88, of Plainview, died February 5, 2016 at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview. She was born January 13, 1928 in Winona to Glen and Loretta (Boehlke) Struble, and raised in the Winona and Lake City area. Betty graduated from Lake City High School in 1944. In 1947 she started working at Zero King Coat Factory in Lake City, and worked there until her retirement in 1990. On September 16, 1950, Betty married Albert Cook in Lake City, and they made their home in Plainview. Albert died September 2, 1992. Betty was a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed traveling to northern Minnesota, dancing and loved bird watching, especially the Cardinals. She is survived by one sister; Verdelma Strauss of Lake City and one sister-in- law; Joan Struble of Mauston, WI; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by her husband Albert, and two brothers, Gerald and Edward Struble. Funeral Mass is Saturday, February 13, 11:00 am at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial is at the St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Joachim’s Catholic Church.
