primarily at W.T. Grant Department Store in bookkeeping.
On August 18, 1956 she married George Neumann in Winona. The couple operated a dairy
farm together east of Plainview. Betty also raised chickens and delivered eggs to homes in
Plainview. They retired in 1985 and moved into Plainview. Her husband, George, died October
20, 1996. Most recently, Betty lived at the Nurturing Hands Elder Care in Kellogg.
Betty was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, where she taught
Sunday school, was active in the ILCW and for a short time was secretary for the church and
school. She was a 4H leader and enjoyed dancing, country music, bowling, gardening and
spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (Alan) Adelman of Bellingham, MN, Jean (Paul)
Wingert of Plainview and Bill (Elayne) Neumann of Scandia, MN, 10 grandchildren; Katie, Paul,
David (Dayna), Dan, Megan, Drew, Jake, Chris, Becca and Bridgett and Great-Grandchild,
Isabel Wingert and sister-in-law LeEtta Neumann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, John Neumann, a brother,
Walter and a sister, Anna Sebo.
Funeral Service is Saturday, February 8, 2014, 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Plainview with Rev. Scott Hirssig officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.
Visitation is Friday 5-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to
the service at the church on Saturday.
