Beverly Joyce Urban

Beverly Joyce Urban 92 of Eyota, passed away on May 27th, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. Beverly was born to George and Margaret Bradshaw in Rochester, MN on November 21st, 1933. She married the love of her life Franklin Carlyn Urban on September 10th 1950. That day marked the beginning of a beautiful marriage of 75 years.

Together they farmed and raised three beautiful children together in Dover. Beverly worked at the State Hospital from 1958-1966 and ran Urban's Market, the local grocery store in Eyota from 1966-1990. In running the store she took great pride in serving her community and treating customers like family.

Together they enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River, going on adventures in their R.V. and spending time with their family. Above all, Bev was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family brought her endless love and joy, and she was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cooked from her heart for her family, never letting anyone leave her home hungry.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin of Eyota, her son Franklin Jr. (Cindy) of Eyota, daughter Vicky LaBare (Doug) of Dover. Grandchildren Nick LaBare (Sue) of Minnesota City, Shawn LaBare (Georgia)of Lakewood, CO, Calie Hyatt (Chuck) of Eyota and Casie Hammel (Damon) of Eyota and 7 great-grandchildren; Isabella Hyatt, Avery LaBare, Reese Hyatt, Reed Hammel, Paige Hammel, Carter Hammel and Wesley LaBare.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Keith Urban.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Mayo Clinic Hospice staff for all their care and compassion in caring for Beverly.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, North Church (12941 County 9 Road, Eyota, MN), visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church, and also on Sunday May 31, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Schad and Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota, MN. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Dover.
