Brenden Lyons

d. February 19, 2019

Brenden Mitchell Lyons, originally from Plainview, 47, died of natural causes on Sunday, February 17, at his home in Hopkins. Brenden was born July 5, 1971, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1989. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design. At the time of his death, he was working for The Print Shop in Bloomington. Brenden is survived by parents, Robert and Jean Lyons of Plainview; a sister, Bridget Lyons, of Plainview; a half-sister, Rhonda Gagner, of Gilbert, Arizona; nephews and nieces, Brady Rau of Duluth, Blaise Rau of LaCrosse, and Bayla Rau of Plainview. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Lyons and Olson families. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Mary Olson Sr., and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Vera Lyons, as well as three uncles, Franklin Olson Jr., Steve Richardson and Darrell Riess. Brenden will be remembered for his hearty laugh, infectious smile and being a true friend. He had a great love for his family and friends, and a naturally outgoing personality to make new friends wherever he went. His love for music was evident in his collection of over 2500 music CDs and when he played ‘name that band.’ Brenden was a football guru who played in four fantasy football leagues every season, and he was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan. Uncle Brenden adored his nephews and niece, and made spending time with them a priority, especially if that meant playing Madden on the Xbox. A celebration of Brenden’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the Plainview American Legion in Plainview. Cards may be sent to Bob and Jean Lyons, 530 5th Street NE, Plainview MN, 55964. Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview is assisting the family with the arrangements.
