Brian John Justin, 67, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026 following a hard-fought, three-year battle with cancer.
He was born on November 25, 1958, the youngest of six children to Julius and Ida (Schmitt) Justin of Fountain City, Wis.. Brian graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1976 where he played trumpet in the band and continued on post-graduation. On May 26, 2000, he married the love of his life, Deb Justin, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eyota, where they remained lifetime members.
Brian worked in several capacities during his life before beginning a long career as a haul truck driver at Milestone Materials in St. Charles, Minn. Brian loved to drive truck and even traveled cross-country in prior driving roles. He retired from Milestone Materials in 2023 at the wake of his cancer diagnosis to begin treatment and make everlasting memories with friends and family.
Brian was a people person, never hesitating to strike up conversations with complete strangers and share his warmth, kindness and generosity with those around him. He loved spending quality time with family, neighbors, and grandchildren and would never turn down a good bloody mary with extra celery salt. Brian was a Green Bay Packers "fanatic" (and shareholder!), never missing a game and checking off a bucket list item by finally attending a Packers game at Lambeau Field with family in 2023. He was an avid concert-goer and all-around music lover attending hundreds of shows and festivals over his lifetime and enjoyed sharing that passion with everyone who wanted to listen.
He is survived by his wife, Deb; children, Katie Gunderson (Cody Benedetto), of Onalaska, Wis., Sara (Jeremy) Bantley, of Kellogg, Minn., and Jared (Moni) Mlenar, of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Jayden Rucinski (Carter Wallerich), Jace Bantley, Kai and Koda Mlenar; siblings, Allan (Sharon) Justin and Kenn Justin; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Justin, sisters Karen (Joe) Miller and Kay (Ray) Cyert, and sister-in-law, Jean Justin.
Brian will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave generously and the light he brought to the lives of those around him.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 770 Robert Ave SW, Eyota, MN 55934. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Pastor Jon Vollrath will officiate.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Green Prairie in Plainview and Red Wing Area Hospice for their kindness and care that was provided.
Memorials would be appreciated to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
