Clifford W. Coffin, 88, died Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Golden Living Center- Whitewater in St. Charles. Clifford was born April 28, 1927 in Rockwell, Iowa to William and Vera Luella (Coe) Coffin. He attended Clear Lake High School In Iowa and then joined the U.S Navy in 1994 serving 4 years. On October 16, 1949 he married Ruth A. Buck at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Clifford worked for Williams Brothers Pipeline in Clear Lake until he was transferred to the Eyota, MN terminal in 1967. In 1971 he started working for the Olmsted County  Highway Department retiring after 18 years. He was on the Eyota city council and served as mayor. Clifford was an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota, the Lion’s club, VFW, and the American Legion, and enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing, playing cards, travel and conferring with his morning coffee group. He is survived by his wife Ruth of Eyota; Son, Steve (Maureen) Coffin of Solon Springs, WI; daughter; Joleen (Howard) Hammel of Owatonna; 5 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; George, Ralph and Bill. Funeral service is Thursday, October 8, 11:00 am at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota with Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Burial is at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Eyota. Visitation is Wednesday, 5-7 pm at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota and Thursday, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Michael J.
