Dale Anthony Schwartz, 74 of Eyota passed away after a short battle of cancer
on December 29, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dale was born on November 6, 1943 in Chatfield, to Russell and Myrtle (Winslow)
Schwartz. On June 11, 1966 he married LaVonne “Bonnie” Crowson they had a
daughter and later divorced. He later married Rebecca “Becky” Wild on February
7, 1972. They had two daughters and a son.
Dale was an active person, from working on cars to being a farm hand, Dale did it
all. During his retirement he spent his time helping friends and family with
projects, wood working, and painting. Dale could either be found working in his
garage or enjoying his daily visits at the knowledge table at the Country Café in
Eyota. He was always willing to help those who needed a hand, and will he be
greatly missed.
Dale is survived by his mother, Myrtle Schwartz of Filllmore; wife Becky of Eyota;
his daughters Bonnie Jo Johnson of Rochester, Tammy (Brad Myers) McNallan of
Elgin, April (Mark Smith) Smith, of Chatfield and his son William (Melodie)
Schwartz of Rochester; his 13 grandchildren, Michael (Karissa Anderson)
Johnson, Dallas (Megan Hunt) Johnson, Kourtney (Shea) Kromminga, Paige
(Ryan Bluhm) McNallan, Brynn (Donovon Mancilman) McNallan, Hunter Smith,
Taylor Smith, Miranda McNallan, Preston Schwartz, Colton McNallan, Hermione
Schwartz, Ethen Briggman, and Sheldon Schwartz; his four siblings, Gail Ann
Lubinsky of Forrest Lake, Sue Thompson of Racine, Gary (Denise) Schwartz of
Fillmore, and Neal Schwartz of Fillmore; and his 3 great-grandsons.
Dale was proceded in death by his father Russell Schwartz.
Dale’s family would like to thank Doctor Thomas Poterucha for the many years of
exceptional care and friendship of Dale. Additionally, the family would like to
thank Seasons Hospice and the Mayo Clinic Oncology team for their support and
care for not only Dale but his family during his final months.
Memorial service will be held Friday, January 5, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors
Lutheran Church in Eyota with Rev. Jonathan Vollrath officiating. Visitation is
Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota and one hour
prior to the service at the church on Friday.
