Eyota….Donna M. Curran, 88, of Eyota died of heart failure July 21, 2019 at Seasons Hospice
House in Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota on Thursday, July 25,
2019 at 11:00 a.m. Father Timothy Biren will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4-7 p.
m. and also one hour prior to services on Thursday. There will be a rosary service on Wednesday
at 4:00 p.m.
Donna was born December 19, 1930 in Winona to Raymond and Jeannette (Kohler) Speltz. She
grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1948.
She married Rodney T. Curran of Eyota on May 20, 1950 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in
Lewiston. They made their home in Eyota.
Donna worked at Dover-Eyota Elementary School as the office secretary and later at Hirman
Insurance in Rochester.
Donna was an active member of the Holy Redeemer Parish in Eyota. She delivered Meals on
Wheels after retirement. She has been living at Arbor Gardens in Eyota for nearly ten years.
Together with Rodney, they raised six children, four of whom survive: Barbara Hawn of Chatfield,
Terrance (Sally) Curran of Eyota, Thomas (Kari) Curran of Tomah, WI and Colleen Curran of St.
Michael, MN.
Donna is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson,
her three younger brothers: Charles Speltz, David Speltz, Anthony Speltz and one daughter-in-
law: Carolyn Curran.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rodney in 2009, her son Dennis
Curran, her son Patrick Curran, a grand-daughter Tonja, a sister Delores (Speltz) Lennon and two
brothers: Raymond A. Speltz and Conrad Speltz.
Donna’s family would like to thank Arbor Gardens and Seasons Hospice Home for their wonderful
care.
Schad and Zabel Funeral Home of Eyota is assisting the family with arrangements.
