Donna Halvorsen

Donna Halvorsen, 75, of Guernsey, Wyoming passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas, Wyoming.

Donna was born on Thursday, April 12, 1951, in Plainview, Minnesota where she lived on a farm with her parents, Donald and Lucille Durgin, along with ten siblings. She graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester, Minnesota in 1969.

Donna loved Jesus above all. In later years, she became even closer with God, and it showed in the way she cared for others. She also had a passion for children. She was a daycare provider in her home, until she was 44. She loved those children as she would her own and impacted dozens of families over the years. By working with children in her home, she was able to stay home with her own daughter, Kimberly, which was her dream. She was a very loving and attentive mother.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Halvorsen) Schiele, and her husband, Tyler Schiele of Guernsey, Wyoming, as well as her granddaughters, Juliana Schiele of Casper, Wyoming and Jacelyn Schiele of Guernsey, Wyoming. She is also survived by siblings Dolores (Bill) Halpaus, Diane (Wayne) Knaup, Dorathy Graner, Duane (Sandy) Durgin, Derene Dobson-Durgin, Darlene Peloquin, Danny (Bach) Durgin, Dennis Durgin; sisters-in-law, Jean Durgin and Cheryl Durgin, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lucille (Hartleip) Durgin; her brothers, Dale Durgin and David Durgin; brother-in-law Roger Peloquin; and sweetheart Augie Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Schad and Zabel Funeral Home (57 3rd Street SW, Plainview, MN). Burial will be at St. Joachim Cemetery in Plainview.
