Elaine Arends

Elaine Katherine Arends, 90 of Dover, MN passed away surrounded by family at home on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024.

Elaine Katherine Becker was born August 7th, 1933, in Rochester, MN to Walter and Anna (Radke) Becker.  She was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School.  Elaine met her husband, Ranard Arends at the Play-Mor Ballroom in Rochester, MN.  They were married on March 19th, 1955.

They lived in the Preston, MN area before moving to Dover, MN in 1964.  Through the years Elaine worked at Home Produce in St. Charles, MN, Telex Communications, Rochester, MN, Civic League Daycare, Rochester, MN, and Dover-Eyota Elementary School in Eyota, MN as a Para-Professional where she made long lasting friendships.

Elaine loved to polka and waltz and listening to old-time country classic music. She loved to dance whenever she had the opportunity to do so.  She loved baking for her family.

Her family was everything to her.  Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children– she loved them all.

Elaine is survived by her son Terry (Lynn) Arends of Eyota, MN, Daughters Dawn Brewington of Dover, MN, Sandy Arends of Rochester, MN, Pam (Joe) Louks of Stewartville, MN, Jayne (Jeff) Wetzstein of Rochester, MN, and Rhonda (Bob) Jean of Dover, MN.

She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ranard, and Grandson Jesse Brewington, sisters Dorothy Newell Smith, Evelyn Wahl, Betty Rahbel, Maxine Svendsen, Joan Holtorf and 4 brothers Richard, Victor, Walter Jr., and Fredrick.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota, MN.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, from 5: 00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota, MN; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
