Esther Wendt

Esther Leona Wendt was born March 18, 1929 in Afton, MN to Albert and Alma (Rieck) Froehner. She married Arnold G. Wendt, October 12, 1953 in Afton. They moved to Eyota in 1958 and farmed east of town. In 2008 they retired and moved into Eyota. Esther enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, traveling, playing cards and going to flea markets. She is survived by her husband Arnold of Eyota; Children, Deb (Steve) Tarara of Rochester, Ed Wendt of Dover, Ron (Susan) Wendt of Chatfield, Mike Wendt of Mikana, WI, and Rachel (Allen) Smith of Elgin; Grandchildren, Chad (Corie) Tarara, Amber (Jamie) Pausch, Natasha (Dan) Howard, Melissa Wendt, Justin (Colleen) Wendt, Cheyenne, Matthew, Nicholas and Christopher Wendt; Great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Tarara, Colten, Cody, Claire, Cael, Caleigh and Carley Pausch, James and Sam Howard, Bryan Hameister, Isabel, Isaac and Nolan Wendt; and 1 sister, Dora Urtel of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Gerald, 1 grandson, Jordan, and her brother, Herman. Funeral Service is Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Eyota with Rev. Jonathan Vollrath officiating. Burial is at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Eyota. Visitation is Tuesday, December 10, 5-8 p.m. at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
