Everett W. Hill

Everett W. Hill, 75, of rural Altura, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 while working on his farm. Everett was born February 3, 1942 in Winona to Warren and Marian (Ehlenfeldt) Hill. He attended Elba country School and St. Charles High School. He was drafted into the US Army in 1964 and served a tour in Vietnam. On October 4, 1968 Everett married Beverly “Jeannie” Majerus. Everett lived and farmed his entire life in the Elba area. He was proud that he owned and farmed the land homesteaded by his family in 1856. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Everett is survived by his wife Jeannie of Altura; children, Douglas Hill of Altura, Gordon (Susan) Stinson of LaCrosse, WI, Laurie (Robert) Yankosky of Altura and Patrice Lee of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Nick, Austin, Erika, Keith, Levi, William, Sam, Sarah and Charlie; one great-grandson, Declan; two sisters, June Graves of Minneapolis and Darlene (Glenn) Boynton of Rushford. Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 15, 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba with Father Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial is at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery with military grave side rites conducted by the Plainview American Legion.
