Gary Arthur Schneider, Sr. 72 of Plainview died peacefully at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center and Nursing Home in Wabasha, Friday March 2, 2018. Gary was born December 29, 1945 in Plainview the son of Arthur and Ruth (Firzlaff) Schneider. He attended school in Plainview, joined the Army serving 13 months in Vietnam 1967-1968. For many years he worked in construction then owned his own company, Schneider Sand and Gravel. He married Linda Durgin and later divorced. Gary enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting and drives out to Hoosier Ridge, fixing up and selling cars. Surviving are his children Gary, Jr. (Wendy) Schneider their children Courtney and Brayden of Plainview; Michelle Schneider and her daughter Ashton of Eagen, MN; brothers Tom Schneider, Jim “Wubsy”(Emma) Schneider of Plainview; Bob (Judy) Schneider of Elgin, MN; sisters Linda Bruegger, Deb (Ron) Piva, Penny (Leo) Schmit, all of Plainview; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Art and Ruth Schneider, special friend Jennifer Decker. Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm, Sunday March 11, 2018, Plainview American Legion Hall, lunch to follow.
