Gene Ferk

Eugene William Ferk, 64, of Plainview, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Gene was born September 23, 1956 in Pittsville, WI., to Eugene & Kathleen (McKee) Ferk. The family moved to Plainview in 1958. Gene graduated from Plainview High School in 1975. Gene married Carol Stevenson and later divorced, then married Connie Stoning and they later divorced and then on May 29, 2006 he married Christine (Hampel) Wernimont and she survives. He was employed for many years by KBS and WAK Construction of Plainview. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, the Green Bay Packers and loved telling stories. Gene is survived by his wife Christine of Plainview; 5 children, Chad, Christine, Kristen, Jeremy and Jenna; 2 grandchildren, Cameron and Esme and 2 step-children, Alicia Austin and Kaitlyn Fletcher: siblings, Bob (Barb) Ferk of Sleepy Eye, MN, Mary (Kevin) Hofschulte of Plainview and Matt (Jill) Ferk of Altura. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Dan and 1 sister Liz Helberg. A private funeral service will be Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview.
