Gerad, 43, of Wabasha, passed away on December 14, 2025.
Gerad was a quietly gifted and deeply creative soul.
Artistic by nature and skilled with his hands, he had a remarkable ability to see possibility where others saw brokenness. He loved carving, repairing, and repurposing-taking discarded or worn things and giving them new life. Creating was second nature to him, and his work reflected both his resourcefulness and ingenuity.
He was humble, independent, and unapologetically himself, with a stubborn streak that matched his determination. Though he often carried a gruff, hermit-like exterior, those close to him knew the truth-Gerad had an incredibly big heart. His kindness was sincere and understated, shown more through actions than words.
Gerad is survived by;
His mother, Judy Rother; Sisters, Jennifer Carpenter and Andrea Berg; Brother, Michael Robertson; and Grandfather, John Rother; and lifelong partner, Krysta Swayze
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dolores Rother.
Gerad will be remembered for his creativity, resilience, and the quiet love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a lasting impression on those who truly knew him and will be deeply missed.
