Gladys Vivian Kruger was born on March 16, 1926 to George and Elsie (Brehmer)
Kruger. She was married on September 11, 1950 at the Breman Church to Francis
W. Shones. The couple lived and raised their family in the Millville area where
Gladys lived her entire life.
Gladys was a stay at home mother that was known for her cooking. She loved
baking cookies and giving them away to friends and family. Other hobbies include
sewing, crocheting, playing cards, and watching NASCAR. Her favorite driver was
Dale Earnhart Jr. She also loved her little dog BoBo.
Gladys is survived by her children, sons; Jerry (Suzie) Shones of Millville, Steve
(Cindy) Shones of Rochester, Keith (Diane) Shones of Millville; daughters, Rita
(Robert) Wheeler, Marsha (Larry) Klingsborn, Cindy (LeRoy Leibolt) Shones, all of
Rochester; grandchildren, Jenny, Dan, Roshon, Tanya, Kyle, Josh, Jake,
Christopher, Melissa, Kristi, Cherish, Britany, Kayla and Chandler, and many
great-grandchildren; sisters, Idyell (Russell) Hasley, Lois Holets, and Bernice
(Darrell) Stewart, all of Rochester; and many half brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; sons, Larry and John;
parents, George and Elsie; step mother, Ella; grandchildren, Angie and Mark;
sister, Lucille and brother Archie.
A special thank you from the family to Don and Ron Springer for all you have done
for Francis and Gladys. It was all very much appreciated.
Their will be no funeral service. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 5-7 pm at
Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview. A private burial will be held at the
Millville Cemetery in Millville.
