Glenn Allen Zell of Plainview, MN passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2018. Glenn was born on August 28, 1939 to Allen and Margaret (Hoffman) Zell in Lake City. The family lived in Millville until they moved to Plainview in 1950. He attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1957. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country proudly for four years until he was honorably discharged in 1961. He married Bonnie Feehan on November 17, 1962 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Glenn was employed at IBM for 34 years. After retirement, he chose to stay active by working at various places such as Green Prairie Place, Piper Hills Golf Course and Houghton Auction Services and SVJ Creative Designs.  He also enjoyed giving back to the community throughout the years in various ways. He was a long-time member of the Lions Club, co-founder of the Plainview/Elgin horseshoe league, volunteered at the Plainview Elgin Food Shelf and served as Treasurer at the Plainview Community and Youth Center. He served as Scout Master for years when his boys were young and was proud to be the Grandfather of three Eagle Scouts. He was a family man; a firm foundation for his five children. He felt extremely blessed with the birth of each grandchild and cherished being involved with all of their accomplishments.  He enjoyed fishing with his special friends Merlin and Jerry, hunting, pitching horseshoes, bowling and playing cards.  Glenn was an avid (and vocal!) fan of the Vikings and Twins. Glenn is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Glenn (Jackie) Zell of Wabasha and their children Nikolas and Kayla. Scott (Amy) Zell of Clarksville, TN and their children Paterick and Madison.
