Goldie Zimmerman, 86, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at St. Isidore Health
Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview.
Goldie Isabelle Zimmerman was born November 16, 1928 in Joplin, Missouri to
Ralph and Nettie (Rathbun) Dykes. At the age of 19, the family moved to St.
Charles, MN. On August 2, 1948 Goldie married Clayton (Scotty) Zimmerman in
Decorah, Iowa. They lived in Northern Minnesota, St. Charles, Dover, Weaver,
and finally settled in Altura. In Altura, Goldie owned and operated Zimmerman
Upholstery. She loved her house plants, cross word puzzles and crafts.
Goldie is survived by her children; Bob (Luckie) Zimmerman of Ramah,
Colorado, Travis Himlie of Rochester and Kathy (Mike) Klagge of Elgin; five
grandchildren, Brian Lidtke, Amelia and Alexander Klagge, Ryan and Chelsea
Zimmerman; 1 brother, Jim Dykes of Sterling, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Scotty, and 2 sisters,
Dorie and Katherine.
There will be no service. Visitation is Monday, June 22, 10 a.m. – 12 Noon at
Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview.
