Greg “Louie” James Lewis, 35, of Plainview, died Wednesday August 2, following a brief illness at his home in Plainview. Greg was born January 30, 1982 in Lake City to James and Theresa (Schouweiler) Lewis. He attended Plainview Public School and graduated from Plainview High School in 2002. Greg lived his entire life with his parents. He was employed from 2002 -2011 at Wabasha County DAC. He was a lifetime member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church where he was an usher. Greg’s nieces and nephews were very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved boys’ high school sports, especially football, basketball and baseball. While in high school he participated in the Special Olympics. He enjoyed shopping and buying gifts, going out to eat and attending community events. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Theresa Lewis of Plainview; 2 sisters, Brenda (Felix Nwachukwu) Lewis of Rochester and Gretchen Lewis of Plainview; Maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Schouweiler of Kellogg; nieces and nephews, Ugo-Chiedu, Lotanna, Amara, Owen and Wyatt. Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Schouweiler and paternal grandparents, Floyd and Jean Lewis. Funeral Mass is Monday, August 7, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 4-8 p.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
