The funeral service for Harriet Baker is Saturday, May 19, 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Rev. Phil Augustine officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Harriet Irene Baker, 79, died April 9, 2018 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Harriet was born November 1, 1938, 4 ½ miles northwest of Plainview in great grandma Karsten’s second home, to Rudolph and Bernice (Gusa) Goetz. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1951 and graduated from Plainview High School in 1956. She worked at Waldorfs Box Company in St. Paul and Dison’s in Rochester. On October 7, 1961 she married Harvey D. Baker at Immanuel Lutheran. They had one son, Harvey Jr. and lived in Rochester. They later divorced. She is survived by her two sisters, Beatrice Rahrmann of Plainview and Grace Howe of Dike, Iowa; sister-in-law Sheila Baker of Plainview and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Harvey Jr.; brothers, Joseph and Donald Goetz; sister-in-laws Marlyn Goetz and Doris Eddy; brother-in-laws Donald Rahrmann and George Howe.
