The funeral for Janice G. Howser will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2nd at the Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview, with Rev. John Curtiss officiating. The burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Mrs. Howser, 88, of Plainview a retired first grade teacher, died of congestive heart failure on Monday, April 27th at the Lake City Medical Center. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Wabasha, Minnesota, attended Wabasha High School and graduated in 1944. Janice attended Winona Secretarial School in 1945 and worked at Northern States Power in Wabasha. She then returned to school at Winona State University and graduated with a teacher’s degree. She taught 1st grade at Plainview Public School for 36 years. On August 26, 1965, she married Rollie C. Howser at the Presbyterian Church in Plainview. Survivors include: a son, Scot and his wife Sandy of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband , Rollie, brother, Stanley Ostrom and a grandson, Bryan.
