Jeanette V. Kruger passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. Isadore’s Care
Center in Plainview.
Jeanette was born on May 27, 1926, in Wabasha, Minnesota, to Edward and
Florence (Olson) Deming. She grew up in Plainview and has been a lifetime
member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church and a lontime member of the Catholic
Daughters. On February 7, 1948, she married Ralph Kruger. They farmed
northeast of Plainview until 1976 when they sold the farm and bought a house in
town.
While on the farm she kept busy helping raise her eight children, helping with
chores, and also kept busy canning fruits, vegetables and jellies every summer
for her family.
At different times in her life she worked at Lakeside Canning Factory and also at
the Altura Turkey Plant.
She enjoyed playing 500 down in Wabasha and also playing 500 with the ladies
in Plainview every week. She also enjoyed going down to the coffee shop and
visiting with her friends there.
She was also a proud Democrat! I’m sure she is saying: Go Hillary!
She was blessed with eight children, 26 grandchildren, and 23 great
grandchildren.
Her husband, Ralph, died on March 27, 1991.
She is survived by her children: Chuck Kruger of Kellogg, Ken (Carol) Kruger of
Stewartville, Judy Jasper of Leroy, Earl Kruger of Plainview, Janette Kiefer of
Hayfield, Paul (Mary Jane) Kruger of Wabasha, Art (Lynnette) Kruger of Kellogg,
Dean Kruger of Greer, South Carolina, her sister Shirley Olson of Plainview, and
also her brother Lavern Deming of Plainview. She was preceded in death by her
husband, daughter, Jean Marie, her parents Edward and Florence Deming, her
twin sister Jean Schultz, her sister Violet Boettcher, and also her brother Willard
Deming.
Funeral mass is Saturday, July 30, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in
Plainview with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial is at St. Joachim's Catholic
Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 4-7 p.m. at the Schad & Zabel Funerl Home in
Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
