Jesse Wurl

years after having a major stroke. Jesse was born June 10, 1937 in Winona to Albert and Caroline (Zarling) Wurl. He graduated from Wabasha High School. He married Joyce Kester on December 14, 1961 in St. Charles. Jesse was a farmer all of his life on Hoosier Ridge, 7 miles east of Plainview, taking over the farm when his parents retired. Jesse was a lifetime member of Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview and served on many committee’s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and going dancing at the Rochester Playmoor Ballroom with friends. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joyce, children; Gary (Jennifer) Wurl of Houston, Texas, Diane (Raymond) Moss of Plainfield, IL, and Bradley Wurl of Plainview, grandchildren; Michael (Rachel) Wurl, Ty and Cole Moss and Alexandra, Brandon and Devon Wurl, Sister; Emogene Kaufman of Hawthorne, CA and sister-in-law; Bernice Wurl of Plainview. Preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Caroline Wurl, brother; Donald Wurl and brother-in-law; Harry Kaufman. Funeral service is Saturday, April 5, 1 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview with Rev. John Curtiss officiating. Burial is at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hoosier Ridge. Visitation is Friday 5-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
