Joan Kruger

Joan D. Kruger, 86, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, MN. Joan was born May 5, 1939, in Wabasha, MN, to Franklin and June (Zirbel) Holzer. She married Vernon Kruger on February 1, 1958, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Plainview, MN. The couple farmed east of Plainview and raised a family of six children before moving into the city of Plainview in 1993. After Vern's passing in 1996, Joan worked for several years at Plainview Community schools in the lunchroom. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters. Joan resided at Cottagewood Senior Communities for the past 11 years.

She is survived by her six children: Linda (Gary) Tesmer of Eyota, MN; Tom (Rhonda) Kruger of Sundance, WY; Tedd (Laurie) Kruger of Plainview, MN; Jane (Robert) Ahmann of Rochester, MN; Jack Kruger of Round Rock, TX; and Joel (Amy) Kruger of Valencia, CA; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 900 W. Broadway, Plainview, MN. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at the St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
