John Thomas Martin, 59 passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2017. He was born on January 12th, 1958 in Wabasha, MN to William and Elaine (Vogel) Martin. John attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1976. He worked for Rollie Houser and Stockwell Construction. John was united in marriage to Chris Lura on March 28, 1981; they were later divorced. His interests included hunting, fishing, woodworking and motorcycling. John is survived by his mother Elaine, stepfather Bob, two sons Eric (Annette) and Travis Martin of Owatonna, MN, six grandchildren Carter, Ayden, Regan, Tristin, Megan and Steven. Seven siblings; Bill (friend Tina) of Black Hawk, CO, Al (Cathy) of Owatonna, MN, Betty (Ben) Tlougan of Plainview, MN, Cheryl (Ken) Eversman of Plainview, MN, Chris (Mike) Beumer of Brooklyn, IA, Scott (Nancy) Martin of Albert Lea, MN, Glenn (Sue) Martin of Austin, MN and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father Bill, brother David and dog Daisy. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October28, 2017, 11:00 am at St. Joachim Church, Plainview, MN. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Schad & Zabel Funeral Home, Plainview MN is in charge of arrangements.
