Joyce Marie Engler Joyce Engler, of Elgin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 26, 2020. Joyce was born on February 24, 1933, in Viola, to Ervin and Leona (Behnken) Rosolack. She attended school at Viola Country School, Elgin Parochial School, and Elgin High School. Joyce grew up on the family farm near Viola. She worked at Federated Woolworths, Green Parrot, and Your Own Drycleaners. She met her lifelong partner Don at the Pla-Mor, dancing. They married September 8, 1951 in Elgin. They moved to California for a short time and then returned to Rochester and Elgin area. Joyce worked for Waters Conley/Telex for over 30 years in Quality Control. Joyce retired in May 1996. Joyce and Don enjoyed fishing & camping for many years. They loved to play cards with their family and friends. Many hours were spent at the kitchen table playing games of 500, Cribbage, 31, and marbles. Joyce will always be remembered for her strawberry jam, chicken noodle soup, and everyone was watchful of her wooden spoon. Joyce is survived by her children; Terry (Jean) Engler of Elgin, Ron Engler of Elgin, Rick (Patty) Engler of Wilson, WI, and Cindy (Dick) Decker of Iowa Park, TX. They enjoyed all- 13 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sibling Linda Nedbalek. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband (Don), her parents (Ervin and Leona), brother (Lyle), sister (Audrey) and one grandson. The family would like to thank the staff at Family Roots Elder Care (assisted living) in Plainview for their care and support the past few months and also Seasons Hospice.
