Joyce Schnell

Joyce Eileen (Krusmark)Schnell, age 74, passed away Tuesday, Feb 20,
2018 with her family by her side.
Joyce was born April 5, 1943 in Wabasha County to Grant and Violet
(Timm) Krusmark. She was baptized May 23, 1943 and confirmed April 20,
1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. She graduated from
Plainview High School in 1961. After graduation, she worked for the Mayo
Clinic and then IBM. On Feb 29th, 1964, she was united in marriage to
Eugene Schnell at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, Mn. After her
husband’s discharge from the Navy, they settled in rural Elgin. She was a
homemaker for her children’s early years. She then spent 22 years
working for the Plainview Community School as a para-professional. She
retired from the school in 2004.
Joyce enjoyed camping, bowling, gardening, going to garage sales,
and spending time playing with and caring for her grandchildren. Joyce
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Dorcas
Club, and Plainview American Legion Auxiliary.
Joyce is survived by husband of 53 years, Eugene, Daughter Kim
(Tom) Feils of Plainview; Son Jeff (Tina) Schnell of Milton, Wi; Son Kurt
(Dawn) Schnell of Zumbro Falls and 6 grandchildren: Matthew, Jason,
Grace, Justin, Josie and Grant. She was preceded in death by her parents,
her sister, Donna Searles; 1 brother, Ervin; a nephew, Rick McGrath.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 24, 11:00 a.m at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Plainview with Rev. Phil Augustine officiating. Burial is
at Greenwood Cemetery, Plainview. Visitation is Friday, 4-8 p.m. at Schad
& Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the
church on Saturday.
