Juanita Kern

Juanita Kern, 92, of Plainview, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester. She was born December 9, 1925 to Lewis and Genevieve (Porter) Wilson in St. Charles, Iowa. Juanita lived in several different areas of Iowa and Minnesota and then settled in Plainview in 1975. On November 10, 1951 she married Franklin Dickman and later divorced. On September 19, 1956 she married Clarence Kern and they later divorced. Over the years, Juanita worked at the Plainview Community Schools, Lakeside Packing, the Pantry Cafe and did a lot of babysitting. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, going to the casino and visiting with her friends at the Plainview Community Center. Juanita is survived by her son Michael Lee Kern of Iowa; 1 granddaughter and 1 great-granddaughter; nephews, cousins and very dear friend Marge. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons, 1 grandchild, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral service is Tuesday, June 19th, 11:00 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Plainview with Pastor John Curtis officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview.
