Kathryn Marie Thompson

Kathryn Thompson, 92, of Plainview died May 29, 2021 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.

Kathryn Marie Thompson was born April 4, 1929 in Pepin County, WI, to Richard and Gladys (Poquette) LaPean. She attended school in the Arkansaw and Durand, Wisconsin area. She worked as a waitress in Durand restaurants and also processed eggs for the Army during the War. Kate loved gardening, canning, baking, playing cards and doing puzzles. In her spare time, she made quilts and did embroidery for the family.

On November 16, 1948 she married Raymond Thompson at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arkansaw, WI. They lived north of Plainview. Raymond died June 13, 1984.

Kathryn is survived by her children; Lorraine (Ed) Schnell, Lewiston, MN, Nancy (Dwight) Tesmer, Millville, MN, Wayne Thompson, Eyota, MN, Betty Thompson, Houston, MN, Glenn (Brenda) Thompson, Kellogg, MN, Paul Thompson (Lynn Schmidt) Lake City, MN; daughter-in-law Sue Thompson, St. Charles, MN; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Joyce Thompson and Carol Konsela.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Raymond John, grandson Jason Tesmer and grand daughter Jennifer Rodriguez.

Funeral mass will be Friday, June 4, 2021, 11:00 am at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
