Larry Munroe

Lawrence Thomas Munroe, 83, of Eyota, MN passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Larry was born June 29, 1941, in Chatfield, MN to Thomas and Ruth (Hovern) Munroe.

After graduating from Dover-Eyota High School in 1959, Larry started farming with his dad and uncle. He married Marlene Bacon on November 21, 1964, and together they raised three wonderful boys on the family farm. Following semi-retirement, he became one of the favorite bus drivers for Dover-Eyota Schools, in which he genuinely enjoyed his bus route families as well as Brandon and Brady jumping on the bus with grandpa. Larry was passionate about his MN Twins, Vikings, and Gophers, DE Eagles, spending quality time with family/grandchildren, friends, and driving around the countryside in his Can-Am, playing cards, and going to the casino. He was a long-time member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota.

Larry is survived by his three children, Mike (Susie) of Canton, Brian (Melanie) of Eyota, Brad (Megan) of Eyota; Grandchildren, Brandon (Carley) and Brady (Mackenzie) Munroe, Taylor (Brittney) Jarland, Jordan Jarland; Mackenzie and Cora Munroe; Great-Grandchildren, Freia, Mya, Lincoln, and Nina Jarland; and Raegan Munroe.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Ruth Munroe, wife Marlene Munroe, and Uncle Edward Munroe.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11 am at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday, February 24, 2025, at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove  Cemetery.
