LaVon was born March 22, 1929 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Herbert and Ruth (Franson)
married Wilmer Fieseler in Iowa. They later divorced.
They farmed in north central Iowa and in 1956 moved to a farm south of Eyota. LaVon
raised poultry and was known as the egg lady. She also worked for 20 years at Libby’s in
Rochester. She moved into Eyota in the mid 1980’s. She was a longtime member of Our
Saviors Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Eyota American Legion Ladies
Auxillary and the Rural Robins Club. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and going to the
casino.
LaVon is survived by six sons, Stanley of Chatfield, Larry (Marlys), EuGene (Diane),
Mark (Shirley), William (Denise) and Kevin (Karen) all of Eyota; 14 grandchildren, 19
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Lora, and one brother, Vincient.
The Funeral Service is Saturday, October 5, 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in
Eyota with Rev. Jonathan Vollrath officiating. Burial is at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Eyota.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota
and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
