Center of Greenwood Prairie. Lucille Esther Zabel was born June 7, 1928, in Plainview to Arthur and Dorothy (Krusmark) Schulz. Lucille graduated from Plainview High School in 1946. On April 7, 1947 she married Marvin Zabel at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm southwest of Plainview. Upon retirement, they moved into Plainview. Marvin died March 8, 2014. Lucille was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was very active in the I.L.C.W. She enjoyed playing piano, baking and decorating cakes and working on the farm. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Doug) Feine of Stewartville and Timothy (Tammie) Zabel of Plainview, grandchildren, Stacie (Eric) Swanson-Dassow, Eric (Kim) Feine, Lesli (Chris) Nelson, Amanda Getschmann (Athanasios Tsitsinakis), Megan (Dan) Holmes and Matthew (Emily) Zabel, great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ty, Colin, Autumn, Samantha, Allyson, Chase, Ruby, Heston and Kyra, two brothers, Art (Joyce) Schulz of Elgin and Larry Schulz of Denver, Colorado, four sisters, LeEtta Neumann of Plainview, Ellen (Odell) Lee of Blaine, Ardeth Arneson of Minneapolis and Carmen (Jim) Nesler of Dover. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Marvin, 1 son, Randolph and 1 daughter, Rebecca Monson. Funeral Services are Saturday, March 22, 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Rev. Scott Hirssig officiating. Burial is at the Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Friday, 5-8 pm at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
