Margaret Ziebell

Margaret Lorraine Ziebell, 96, of Plainview died Monday, April 15, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Margaret was born January 3, 1923 in Eyota to Harry and Helen (Smith) Rhodey. She attended school in Eyota. On September 7, 1940 she married Albert Ziebell in Decorah, Iowa. They lived their entire married life in Plainview. Margaret had been employed at Lakeside Packing Co. in Plainview, worked at various restaurants in town and cleaned homes for Plainview residents. She enjoyed playing card bingo, baking, reading and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Her husband Albert died March 11, 1979. Margaret is survived by her children, Roger (Sharon) Ziebell of Plainview, Marilyn Rumsey of Brownsdale, MN and Cindy (Roger) Rettmann of Plainview; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Adeline (Bob) Mauer of Elba and Jeanine Binner of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters; Bernice, Merle and Katie and son-in-law Howard Rumsey. Funeral service is Thursday, April 18, 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
