Marie (Kreofsky) Gusa

Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Saint Mary’s Campus. Marie was our gift from God who always made time for others. She shared her time, skills and love with whoever crossed her path. She graduated from Garden City High School and then attended Cosmetology School at Mankato, MN On August 9, 1947, she married Bruce Kreofsky in Vernon Center, They lived in Elgin for a couple years and then moved to Plainview where they lived and raised their family. Bruce died on May 28, 1983. Marie then married Irle Gusa on September 30, 1989 at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview. They resided in Plainview and then moved to Rochester in 1997. Marie worked as a hair dresser in Winona and then became owner of her own beauty salon at her home in Plainview. In 1977, she and her husband, Bruce, started KBS, a lumber yard, hardware and construction business. Marie also started a Green house business at KBS which she was involved with for many years. Following her marriage to Irle, they became involved with the Rochester Senior Center. They started square dance lessons and became long time members of the Silver Treads Square Dance Club. Besides active participants in many of the Senior Center activities, Irle and Marie were dedicated volunteers for the Senior Center. Visitation is Monday 4-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to the Rochester Senior Center Foundation. Marie possessed an incredible work ethic. She worked from sun up to sun down every day. She was extremely proud of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which was obvious by the smile on her face when she spoke of family. It broke our hearts to lose her, but she did not go alone. For part of us went with her the day God called her home.
