Mark Scripture

Mark “Chippy” Curtis Scripture, 62, died of natural causes at his home in rural Plainview, MN February 7th, 2021. Mark was born May 20, 1958 in Rochester, MN to Dale and Phyllis (Krause) Scripture. He graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1976. Mark lived in rural Eyota and farmed with his father through grade school and later, was given the opportunity to come farm with his good friend Steve Corbin. Mark married Greta Haugstad on October 16th, 1982 and had 3 wonderful children: Todd, Matthew, and Emily. Greta passed away May 31st, 2002 after a battle with Leukemia. Mark later married Lisa Baer August 20th, 2011. Mark had the opportunity to spend almost all his life doing what he loved most, farming. You would always catch him either driving the skid loader or the Gator around. He always had a smile on his face and a story of some sort to tell whether it was the first time or 80th time you heard it, it never got old. Mark will be extremely missed by everyone, but anyone that knows him, knows he is up in Heaven farming once again. He was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife Greta. He is survived by his wife Lisa (Baer) Scripture, sons; Todd (Genna) of Folda, MN, Matt (Ashley) and his daughter; Emily both of Plainview, MN. He has two stepchildren, Matt Baer and Chelsey Lehnherr. Mark has four Grandchildren: Cooper, Alida, Everly, and Bode. He has four step Grandchildren: Asher, Kileigh, Brinleigh, and Eva. Mark has two sisters; Joyce (Butch) of Rochester, MN, Rita (Dallas) of Rockford, IL, and a brother; Dennis of Chatfield, MN Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Viola.
