Marlow Edwin Ihrke, 88, of rural Dover passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Golden Living Center-Whitewater in St. Charles. Marlow was born in Dover on March 5, 1927 to Edwin and Mabel (Salter) Ihrke. He was a lifelong resident of Olmsted County. He attended Eyota Elementary and graduated from Eyota High School. Marlow worked very hard as a farmer his entire life. He married Christine M. Williams on December 28, 1962 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where he was a lifetime member. They lived on their farm in Dover until moving into Arbor Gardens in Eyota on October 1, 2010. In addition to farming, Marlow also worked for several years at Crenlo in Rochester and then Camera Art in Lewiston. He was a WWII veteran in Korea, a member of the Eyota American Legion and a past member of the Eyota Sportsman Club. He loved sports, watching and playing them.  He won many bowling trophies and some horseshoe trophies. He played his accordian in the Rochester Area Accordian Band and took organ lessons at Schmidt Music in Rochester. Marlow loved to visit with people and couldn’t go anywhere that he didn’t know someone.
