Marvin Geroge Zabel

Marvin graduated from Plainview High School in 1944. On April 7, 1947 he
married Lucille Schulz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. Together they
owned and operated a dairy farm southwest of Plainview. Upon retirement, they
moved into Plainview.
Marvin was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he had
served on the board of elders and various other boards, including chairman of
the congregation. He also was on the Plainview Milk Products board of directors.
He enjoyed wood carving.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Plainview, daughter; Beverly ( Doug) Feine
of Stewartville and son; Timothy (Tammie) Zabel of Plainview, grandchildren;
Stacie (Eric) Swanson-Dassow, Eric (Kim) Feine, Lesli (Chris) Nelson, Amanda
Getschmann, Megan (Dan) Holmes and Matthew (Emily) Zabel,
Great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ty, Colin, Autumn, Samantha, Allyson, Chase,
Ruby and Heston, and 1 sister, Verona Timm of Plainview.
Preceded in death by parents, 1 son, Randolph and 1 daughter, Rebecca
Monson.
Funeral Services are Thursday, March 13, 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church
in Plainview with Rev. Scott Hirssig officiating. Burial is at the Greenwood
Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel
Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on
Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to the Immanuel Lutheran Christian Life Center.
