Mary Helen Holzer, 70, of Plainview, passed away early Wednesday
morning, July 5, 2017, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.
Mary was born July 11, 1946 in Wabasha County, to Kenneth and Minnie
(Kreidermacher) Holzer. She graduated from Plainview High School in
1964. She then took a secretarial/bookkeeping course at the Winona Vo-
Tech in Winona, MN. She was hired at the Plainview Co-op Creamery, in
Plainview, where she would continue to be a faithful employee for the
next 53 years, working up until May 31, 2017. Mary lived her entire life
on the family farm in rural Plainview, until moving in December of 2016 to
Green Prairie Place in Plainview. Mary loved life on the farm! She
enjoyed dancing and wore out many a pair of shoes at the Pla-Mor
Ballroom in Rochester. Mary also enjoyed card playing, visiting, and
reading. She was a lifetime member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in
Plainview and was also a member of the Old Settlers Club.
She is survived by her brother, John (Diane) Holzer of Plainview; niece,

of Waterville, MN; nephews, Gregory and Denton of Rochester and
step nephews, Scott Doherty of Rochester and Kevin Doherty of
Plainview; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass is Monday, July 10, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim’s
Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial
is at St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 4-6 p.m. at
Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the
service at the church on Monday.
