Mary Frances Miller (Stender) was born November 16, 1937.
Thursday June 7th, 2018, Mary Frances left the Golden Living Center in St. Charles to
join God our Father, and her husband Ervin LeRoy Miller in heaven. Mary and Ervin
were married in St. Johns in Wykoff, MN on August 19, 1955 and remained together until
November 6, 2002 when he joined our Lord to prepare a place for her. She is now
reunited with him, her parents August and Eldora

Garnatz, brother Irvin Stender, and their own beloved children Michael, and Sand
ra
who
preceded them.
Mary is survived by her brother Paul Stender and his wife Bernice in Blooming Prairie
and their family; the families of her sister and brother; and her children and their
families. She was the matriarch of the Miller family including: her eldest son LeRoy and
his wife Regina of Eyota, MN and their children Amy Loyall and husband Robert, Chad
Miller, and Mischea Smith and husband Michael; her son Patrick and his wife Krys of
Thousand Oaks, CA and their son Geoff Miller; her daughter Judith from Eyota, MN and
daughter Kathryn Stapleton; and son Thomas and his wife Susan from Chatfield, MN
and daughters Emily and MaKenzie Miller. She remains the cherished great-
grandmother of David, Christopher, and McKayla Loyall; Isabella Miller; and Kaleb, Ava,
Reuben, Matthew, and Alex Smith.
Her support of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Eyota, MN spanned decades, as
financial secretary and member of the Altar Guild. She rejoiced in the blessing of every
child in the church, embroidering the baptismal cloths by hand. Her legacy will continue
for generations in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. She joyfully served
those in need, especially children. She was a home daycare provider for over 42 years
and sewed for Bundles of Love. Her skills as a seamstress were a blessing to many
christenings, proms, weddings and anniversaries over the years. She always had the
time to teach and watch God’s children grow. We were all flowers in her garden.
Funeral service is Saturday, June 16, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in
Eyota with Rev. Jonathan Vollrath officiating. Burial is at Grandview Memorial Gardens in
Rochester. Visitation is Friday, 5-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota and
one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A luncheon will follow the
service Saturday at the church.
