Meryl Margaret (Virnig) Kreidermacher, born July 11, 1935 in Dodge Center, MN to
Adrian K & Eva A (Perkins) Virnig. She lost her long battle with Parkinson’s
Disease at the age of 82 on September 26, 2017 at Good Samaritan Bethany in
Brainerd, MN. Meryl graduated from St Charles High School. She married the love
of her life, Casper Gerald Kreidermacher on September 15, 1953. They worked
together on their dairy farm near Plainview, MN for many years. Meryl also worked
at Lakeside Packing Company in Plainview for a couple years. After selling their
farm & retiring, Meryl & Casper became snowbirds & enjoyed Winters in Arizona
meeting many new friends from all over the US. Meryl enjoyed entertaining the
snowbirds playing her Omnichord & singing to them. Meryl & Casper also enjoyed
Square Dancing. Meryl enjoyed playing Bingo & was a lucky winner many times.
She also enjoyed painting & playing cards. She was an active member of St
Joachim Catholic Church in Plainview until she moved to Brainerd MN to live at
Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in June 2011. She moved to Good Samaritan
Bethany in Brainerd in March 2014. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Leita
(Arvid) Hassig Plainview, MN & Andrea (Larry) Deyo Brainerd, MN & her son Duane
(Cindy) Kreidermacher Crystal, MN. 7 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Casper, her parents & all of
her siblings—5 brothers Gabriel Virnig, Pike Virnig, Gerald Virnig, Wilfrid Virnig &
Kenneth Virnig & 3 sisters Evelyn Majerus, Leona Meyers & Lorraine Putzier.
The family would like to thank Dr Williams, Good Samaritan Bethany & St Croix
Hospice for making her final days comfortable.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St Joachim Catholic Church 900 West
Broadway Plainview, MN on Friday, September 29, 11:00 a.m. with Father William
Becker officiating. Burial is at the St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is
Thursday, 5-7 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour
prior to the service at the church on Friday.
