Michael J. Marshman, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, January 12, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus, following a brave battle with ALS. Mike was born December 4, 1954 in Rochester to Benjamin and Irene (McGrath) Marshman. He was raised on the family farm southeast of Plainview. Mike graduated from Plainview High School in 1973. He then attended Winona Vocational School for auto mechanics. On September 10, 1977 he married Carol Tlougan in Elba. They lived and farmed on the family farm. He enjoyed canoe racing, competition coon hunting, fishing, stock car racing, playing pool, riding his mules and four wheelers and spending time with his grandchildren. Mike is survived by his wife, Carol of Plainview; children; Lucas (Leah) Marshman of Plainview, Jessie (Adam) Graner of Kellogg, Claire (Ryan) Speedling of Plainview and Megan (Dillon) Stoltz of Colorado Springs, CO.; nine grandchildren; Melayna, Presley, Maura and Paige Marshman, Aiden, Nash and Nora Graner, Lawson and Mariah Speedling; His mother, Irene Marshman of Plainview; brothers and sisters; Lou Ann Marshman (Neil Frank) of  Maplewood, MN, Alan Marshman of Plainview, Jon Marshman of Elba, Keith (Patty) Marshman of Plainview and Laurie (Rich) Bartz of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin. Funeral Mass is Saturday, January 17, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview with Father William Becker officiating. Burial is at Woodland Cemetery, rural Plainview. Visitation is Friday, 4-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
