Wabasha County to Clayton and Mamie (Deurwachter) Bennett. She attended Woodland Country School and graduated from Plainview High School in 1949. Norma grew up on the family farm south of Plainview. She married George Mason on May 2, 1953 at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview. She worked at First National Bank in Plainview. She and her husband owned and operated Piper Hills Golf and Country Club from 1972- 1979 and Mason Trucking from 1950-2000. Her husband George died May 5, 2003. Survivors include three sons, James (Sibyl), Gregory (Debra) and George G. Mason all of Plainview; four daughters, Patricia (Greg) Joyce of Hastings, Marie (Don) Ratz of Plainview, Karen (Steven) Law of Mantorville and Lisa (James) Holst of Lake City; 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 27, 11 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
