Patricia Ann Dick, 51, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at her home in rural Millville following
Patricia was born December 28, 1961 in Wabasha to Hugh and Eleanor (Blee) Young. She
graduated from Plainview High School in 1980, and from Rochester Vo-Tech with a nursing
degree.
On October 16, 1982 she married Jerome Dick at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview.
They started farming in Millville, and her husband Jerry, also worked as an electrician in
Rochester.
Patty was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in West Albany where she did a lot of
volunteer work and taught religion classes. She was also a member of the Millville American
Legion Auxiliary, and played taps for the legion .She had worked at the Subway in Plainview
for 9 years. Patty enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of 2 snowmobile clubs; 4
Seasons and Cliff and Coulee Climbers. She loved taking care of the cows and calves and
doing field work. She also enjoyed motorcycling, baking, gardening and canning. Volunteering
was very important to Patty. She went on a mission trip to Honduras, and helped with flood
relief in Millville and Rushford. She always greeted everyone with a smile and kind heart.
Patricia is survived by her husband Jerry of Millville, Six children; Jennifer, Ben, Julie, Andy
(Cassie), Brian and Aaron. Two grandchildren: April and Kylie. Three sisters: Karen (Gary)
Rehling of Pine Island, Janet (Rich) Hall of Kellogg, Donna (John) Bedtke of Altura. Six
Brothers: Maurie (Rita) Young, Gary (Sandy) Young, Rob (Heidi) Young, Rich (Carolyn)
Young, of Plainview, Dan (Teresa) Young of Altura, and Dave (Deanna) of Chaseley, ND.
Sister and Brother-in-laws: Mary ( Bob) Press of Pinckney, MI, Pete (Janet) Dick of Windsor,
CO, Dale (Jeanne) Dick of Hosmer, SD, Mark (Rita) Schmitt of Rogers, MN, Doris Grovdahl of
Rochester and Randy (Jane) Dick of St. Charles, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Hugh and Eleanor, and 1 brother: Eddie.
The Funeral Mass is Saturday 11 am, January 5, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in
West Albany with Father Joseph Pete and Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial is at the
church cemetery. Friends and family may call on Friday 4-8 pm at the Schad & Zabel Funeral
Home in Plainview and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
