Phyllis E. Lawson, 90, of Plainview, died Thursday, August 18, 2016, at
Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester.
Phyllis was born April 2, 1926 at Ridgeway, MN, Winona County, to Robert
and Minnie (Hahn) Myers. She graduated from Winona High School and
then moved to Plainview. Phyllis worked as secretary to the superintendent
of Plainview High School and then started her employment of 43 years at
the First National Bank in Plainview, retiring in 1990. On August 6, 1949,
she married Clinton “Baldy” Lawson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Plainview. Clinton died May 31, 1991. Phyllis was a longtime member of
Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in various organizations. She
enjoyed putting together puzzles, baking, playing bingo, watching Wheel of
Fortune and getting together with her family.
She is survived by two brothers; Roger (Shirley) Myers of Minnesota City
and Raymond (Marilyn) Myers of Alexandria, MN and nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters;
Frances, Helen and Dorothy.
Funeral service is Thursday, August 25, 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran
church in Plainview with Rev. Phil Augustine officiating. Burial is at
Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview. Visitation is Thursday, one hour prior
to the service at the church.
