Rachel Margaret (Urich) Jones passed peacefully at home of natural
causes on Monday, February 22, 2021. She was 68 years young and
was born in Moorhead, MN on May 4, 1952 to Margaret Alma (Maasch)
and Richard Vin
son
Urich.
Rachel spent time growing up in Moorhead, Omaha and Rochester where
she graduated from Mayo high school in 1970. She met her best friend,
love of her life and husband, Stanley Jones in February of 1970. They
were married April 6, 1973 in Vallejo, CA in the presence of Stanley’s
parents. All together they have been together for 51 years.
Rachel had gone to beauty school after high school and worked for a
short time as a beautician, then she stayed at home and raised her family
until the children all entered school. She then worked for Telex
Communications building hearing aids which she enjoyed greatly.
Rachel had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1992, she
retired when Telex closed its doors in Rochester.
Her greatest pride and joy in life, after her children, were her
grandchildren. Her children remember her fondly as a cheerleader, a
best friend, and a comforter in trying times. We know that her love was
great and wide, she would do anything for her family. Even do silly things
to make you feel better when you are down or sick. She was a huge lover
of animals, especially her cats she had over the years: Lady, Puddy, Lilly
and Shadow.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Jones, their children
